Minimum age to start Karate

At the South Bucks Karate Academy the minimum age is normally 8 years. This requirement is based on ability to concentrate and maintain a reasonable attention span as well as the ability to follow instruction.
We always recommend a Trial Lesson where the instructor will assess a new student. We may sometimes advise delaying training until a child is older. A child who finds it difficult to concentrate or follow instruction will present a danger to themselves and other students in the Dojo.

Sensei Steve is a 7th Dan Black Belt in Karate with over 50 years of experience. He is also rated as one the top 10 instructors by the UK All Styles Karate Organisation, for the 6th consecutive year.
